Under the microscope

Bucephalandra sp. "Brownie Helena"
The leaf in the photo looks dull, but it actually shines in the aquarium depending on the angle between light and leaf surface.


I guess the epidermal cells around the stomata attribute to the glare or shining on the leaf. 

This is the reason why some Bucephalandra show metallic bluish color. (Some substances among or in cells )
